Brighton Marine and Medic Now Foundation Honor Veterans

Earlier this month, Brighton Marine and the Medic Now Foundation (MNF), an organization helping Veterans with out-of-pocket costs of health care, hosted an event on Brighton Marine’s campus honoring two Veterans for their service, SPC William Finn and PFC Stuart Franklin.

These two veterans were referred to MNF by Brighton Marine’s Residences Community Coordinator John Carduff and he presented their stories. Mr. Franklin was awarded two good conduct medals, the Army service ribbon and the overseas ribbon. He served at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Fort Bragg, and served 6 years overseas in Germany and Japan, and earned two degrees while in the service. Mr. Finn was a communications specialist from 1978 to 1987. He was awarded the good conduct medal and the overseas medal. He served at Fort Drum, Fort Sill and Fort Gordon, as well as in the Black Forest in Germany. Carduff also mentioned how both honorees are always offering help for fellow veterans.

Bob Notch, Brighton Marine’s Former Program Development Officer hosted a ceremony to honor two veterans, SPC William Finn and PFC Stuart Franklin. “Stuart and Will represent several generations of Veterans that did not hear the words, ‘Thank you for your service.’ We are honored to partner with the Medic Now Foundation and WinnCompanies to say those words to them today,” said Notch.

“Having the opportunity to say thank you to William and Stuart for their service to our country was an absolute honor, thanks to the gracious invitation from Brighton Marine. I was very moved and humbled as they felt comfortable sharing their heartfelt stories during their service years with me.” said Michael Duggan, President, CEO, and Founder of MNF. Accolades were followed by a presentation of a ceremonial keepsake for each of the honorees.
